GENERAL PROGRAM ELEMENTS AND FUNCTIONS

MAIN WINDOW

When an jpg, bmp, ico or gif file is loaded, the image is displayed in the main window of the free image viewer Depending on settings it will be loaded at its original size or to fit to screen.

Functions Rect and Centre Image are executed with left and right mouse buttons on the main window of the free photo viewer, respectively.

It is important to note that you should always use the Save and Save AS File menu items of the free program, and if possible any previous edition, with the zoom at 100 to avoid any unnecessary loss in the quality of the image. It is always possible to use the Zoom function afterwards, unless you are looking specifically for a bigger original picture.

CENTRE IMAGE

When the picture is bigger than the main window of the free image viewer, by right clicking over the main window of the program, the current position of the mouse pointer will be the centre of the visual area.

When the image is smaller than the main window of the free image viewer, by right clicking over the main window of the photo program, the current position of the mouse pointer will tend to be the centre of the visual area if the picture is zoomed up.

LITTLE WINDOW

Options tip - Swap

When the Refresh toolbar button is enabled and the Show little window option is checked, the little window of the free image viewer will display the last image activated or refreshed by the user or by the photo program.

The picture in the little window will remain until:

• You click the Refresh toolbar button either once or twice.
• The jpg, bmp, ico or gif picture in the main and little windows became the same by pressing the Handy Arrows.
• You execute the Little Window function by clicking the little window of the free image viewer.

Clicking the little window of the freeware image viewer will produce one of the following:

• If the image file displayed in the main and little windows of the freeware photo viewer is the same, the effect will be similar to clicking the Refresh toolbar button.
• Otherwise, it will swap the displayed image files between the main and little Windows of the free picture viewer.

HANDY ARROWS

Toolbar - Handy arrows

Loads and displays the previous or next file onto the main window of the free image viewer. The zoom of the last unedited picture is retrieved.

The Undo function is reset.

In Sequence mode and when the Little window show option is checked, the little window may remain, appear, or disappear depending on whether or not the image file associated with it is the same as the current picture file loaded.

If the Set Auto scroll On option is checked, whenever an image is bigger than the main window of the image viewer, by clicking the Handy arrows , the scroll bars will move automatically.

The digital zoom function allows stretching or reduction of the screen picture proportionally to its size.

It is possible to obtain maximum, minimum, fit to screen and original size directly through the View menu or through the toolbar pull down list

Further scales are also available by using the digital Zoom pull down list. You may also write any specific percentage.

Zooming to fit screen of an image portion is performed using the Rect function. This function allows you to zoom up as many times as you wish - zoom-zoom-zoom-. Therefore, the colour of one pixel can fill the main window of the photo editor.

The Minus and plus buttons allow gradual step increases through the Zoom pull down list

After any edit zoom is always reinitialise so images may be zoomed without saving them.

REFRESH

Toolbar - Refresh

The Refresh function will carry out the following actions:

• Fix the zoom to its default value.
• Display the photo file of the current file index or sequence order.
• Undo function will be disabled.

In Sequence mode, if the photo file displayed in the main window of the picture viewer is still different from the one associated with the little window, the Refresh function will remain enabled. By clicking the Refresh toolbar button again, the photo software will carry out the following action:

• Associate the current photo file with the little window, which will become invisible.

TOOLBAR OF THE PROGRAM

Handy arrows.

• When there are no more previous or next pictures in the current folder, the Left or Right Handy arrows will be disabled.

• While using the Rect function, the Handy arrows will be disabled unless they are indicating that automatic flipping will take place. Depending on how you draw a rectangular area with the mouse, the left Handy arrow will indicate that horizontal flipping will occur automatically and if both Handy arrows are enabled vertical flipping will occur.

Zoom.

The zoom percentage will appear in red when it corresponds to the maximum size and green for the minimum.

Refresh.

The Refresh toolbar button becomes enabled when:

• Clicking the handy arrows in Sequence mode so the image file displayed in the main window is different from the one associated with the little window.
• Pasting.
• Stretching the image by using the Rect function, indicating to the user that this function is enabled.
• Flipping.an image.

The Refresh toolbar button becomes disabled when using the Refresh function either once or twice.

OPTIONS OF THE PROGRAM

Zoom

You can choose between starting with a Fit to maximum main widow zoom or with the Original zoom in the Show tab of the Options form.

These options are also applied any time an image is Refreshed or the Load.
